Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize for Félicité
Alain Gomis receives the Silver Bear at the Berlinale 2017
A very well deserved prize for Félicité, one of the strongest and most convincing films of this years' Berlinale. The Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize was given to Félicité by the French-Senegalese filmmaker Alain Gomis. «I want to show that people can fight for their dignity in all circumstances — and how good that is. In this sense, Félicité is an optimistic, life-affirming movie. We urgently need some optimism in our world.» trigon-film will distribute Félicité in autumn 2017 in Swiss cinemas. Congratulations to the entire film crew and the wonderful protagonis Véro Tshanda Beya.
Another award went to Centaur by Aktan Arym Kubat from Kyrgyzstan. His movie was first performed in the parallel section Panorama and awarded with the C.I.C.A.E prize of the International Confederation of Art Cinemas. Centaur will also be shown in Swiss cinemas this year.
