Wolfgang Fischer was born 1970 in Amstetten, Lower Austria. He first studied psychology and painting at the University of Vienna, before studying film and video at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf. Subsequently he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts für Media Cologne in the field of film and television until 2001.
